Top 10 Best Things About Fall

1. Weather: Cool, crisp, and breezy

Has anyone else officially reached the point of the year where you're over the hot, humid days of summer? I'm so there! I'm needing some cool breezes and crisp nights. Easily one of my all time favorite parts of fall.

2. Bonfires and cool nights

Nothing quite beats the coziness of a crackling fire, a cozy sweater, and a cool fall night. The combination of these things is so peaceful to me.

3. Colors

Warm-toned and golden colors automatically bring warmth anywhere, whether you're inside or outside. I love decorating my house for fall, because everything instantly gets cozy just with the warmth of colors. Then when you add in the beauty of the leaves just can't beat that!

4. Football: Go Irish!

I never really valued watching football until I started going to some Notre Dame games. Now THAT brought a whole new level of appreciation. Fall & football just go together and I love rooting on the Fighting Irish.

5. Halloween & Spooky Season

I get as giddy like a child around spooky Halloween decorations. I don't know what it is, but Halloween decorations are just so fun and bring me joy during the fall season. I love haunted houses, spooky decor, and any fun Halloween stuff.

6. Festivals & Fun

Apple picking, pumpkin patches, corn mazes, hay stacks, barrel racing, boutique shops, crafts, and SO MUCH MORE. I love fall for the fun festivals that take place. We have one locally called the Johnny Appleseed Festival that I LOVE going to every year. I would even just go for the amazing fall smells there!

7. Thanksgiving & Seasonal Food

One of the best parts of fall is all of that cozy, feel-good food and the memories surrounding it. Yummy chili, pumpkin flavored....everything!, delicious soups, apple cider drinks, apple flavored sweets, and so much more! Check out my all-time favorite chili recipe from the Pioneer Woman....HERE! You can adjust the spiciness as needed-ENJOY!

One of the best holidays for food is definitely Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving for that reason and SO MUCH MORE! I love gathering with family and just spending time together. The memories made around the dinner table are so special. 🧡

8. Comfy Clothes & Amazing Scents

I'm pretty sure one of the best parts of fall is being able to switch from summer clothes to cozy sweaters on a cool, crisp day. Don't get me wrong, I love summer, but there just comes a time when I want to be able to wear a cozy sweater without the literal sweat and fall is the perfect time for that!

Also, can we talk about the amazing scents of fall? Cinnamon, pumpkin spice, apple and cider, pecan pie (any yummy baked good), crisp scents, bonfires, leaves, nutmeg, and I could go on and on.

9. Decorations...hello pumpkins

I will admit it, I have probably redecorated for fall 3 different times already. I just love being creative with all of the colors, textures, and selection of decor. It's so fun!! Check out some of my favorite fall decorations below!

10. Change & Letting Go

Ultimately, I love when fall comes around because it's a reminder that change can be messy but beautiful. It's a subtle change at first with leaves changing gradually like the awakening of our minds and hearts realizing we need to make an adjustment within ourselves. Then the change of the colors get vibrant and bright, things look different and we might too...and that's okay. Finally, those leaves drop as a last and final reminder that letting go of old hurts, burdens, worries is the only way to move forward and march on to better days. HAVE I MENTIONED THAT I LOVE FALL?

Happy Fall!
